The ESB 14U team had a tough weekend but we did have plenty positives. The team was playing in the hottest temperatures of the summer. Drew Dudly stepped up and threw a very nice game on Saturday in game one. Dropping a close decision 5-3. Dudley the Fort Zumwalt West product this fall showed us signs of what could be in the future. On offense ESB hit into some tough luck. Fielding continues to be and issue and plague the pitching staff. Game two against the Fury the ESB 14U bunch was effected by a short bench and the heat became a factor. Sunday feature ESB top starter Paul Gill who continued to improve against Kirkwood. Gill threw a solid game but was hurt by the lack of defense. Gill a fastball changeup pitcher has continue to gain experience and arm strength. We had a much more aggresive appoach but never found the holes for hits. A great character building weekend. It was awesome to have the Parkway North products the Ballintine twins this weekend. They are hardcore and the brought a different dynamic to the table this weekend with their hustle and willingness to play anywhere on the diamond. Cam was awesome at first base and Matt nice job in right and catching. Ryan Reilling was strong at shortstop this weekend. Way to stick together, compete and grow as ball players this weekend. Thanks to the Coaches Ted and Corey. We look to have a full team and back at full strength in two weeks when were back in action in Manchecter AA. Keep practicing, training and getting better.
