Just when fans thought it was the end of the road for Brian Scalabrine on the NBAhardwood, the Chicago Bulls and head coach Tom Thibodeau appear to have decided to add the bench star to their 2012-13 coaching staff. Well, as long as the forward decides to take that route for this coming season.

According to CSNChicago.com's Aggrey Sam (via Twitter):

"Sources tell me Scal is close to joining Thibs' staff.  He'd replace Rick Brunson (TU), who is now in Charlotte."

Out of the five new players general manager Gar Foreman added, there is one who might really surprise people and make a huge impact.

Chicago, IL —  Luol Deng poured in a season-high 26 points and the Chicago Bulls defeated the Celtics 93-86 at United Center on Thursday. Joakim Noah finished with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Carlos Boozer recorded a double-double with 12 points and 14 boards for Chicago, which snapped their first two-game losing streak of the season.    Paul Pierce scored 22 points, Brandon Bass added 15 points and Kevin Garnett tallied 12 points and 14 rebounds.
