North Carolina St. Wolfpack
When you have a player with the skills of CJ Leslie on your team it gives you hope. It also gives you a dominant player in a thick conference like the ACC that could push you over the gap. That’s what's in store for the Wolfpack as they look to have a great return this year after a good finish but with some unsettled business. WHAT TO KNOW Two words, Scott, Wood. The outside threat of the pack will see more touches as CJ is double teamed and Wood will produce. A somewhat good non conference schedule will be good for the Wolfpack to see where there team is heading before conference play... read more

Last years national champions look to repeat with a slew of fresh new talent. They are not favored to win this year but I have them first because they are the defending champs. They are also still good. Coach Cal leads another team with little depth once again until the fray. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW Gone are Davis and co but arrived is the number 2 class in the nation headlined by Noel Nerlens. Look for all the freshman to have an impact but none better than Archie Goodwin. He is the key to helping them win another title. EXPECTATIONS Possibly a final four appearance unless something unforeseen happens... read more

The Atlantic Journal Constitiuion reported today that WR Jeremey Moore has reportedly left the team as of Wednesday. Cited as leaving for personal reasons coach Paul johnson states this is not the first time Moore has thought about leaving. “He had some personal reasons, said that he’s struggled with it before,” Johnson said. “It’s not the first time he’s thought about it. I just wished him well.”
After playing only three games last year due to a torn knee Moore started all three games this year catching 4 passes for 64 yards... read more

Many experts don’t think Michigan has a chance against the 3-0 Irish and there are many reasons to back up that theory. The Wolverines have looked less impressive in the first few weeks against foes and the Irish has the more credible win against Michigan State. Denard seems a lot more comfortable in his reads but his players are not getting open to extend drives. The running game is still clearly just Robinson and unless Toussaint or Shaw make an immediate impact early in the game its going to be a long day. The case of the Irish is the defense upfront looks improved from last year and the athleticism of Golson could give the Wolverines a taste of their own medicine... read more

Sergio Ganem, the president of team Fuerza Regia in the Mexican Basketball League, has confirmed that he is in talks with future Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal, according to ESPN Deportes.
Ganem is negotiating with Shaq in the hopes that he will agree to play one or two games of the 2012-13 season in October. The two sides have reportedly spoken over the phone, and Shaq is expected to give his decision some time next week.
The addition of Shaq would not be that unusual for Fuerza Regia, as the team employed former NBA forward Dennis Rodman for two games in 2004... read more

Peyton Manning, the Denver Broncos' future Hall of Fame quarterback, may be the toast of Colorado as the team prepares for its season opener, but students in the Greeley-Evans School District better not wear his jersey to class.
For several years, the district has imposed a strict dress code that forbids students from wearing certain clothing that could be associated with gangs, including jerseys with the No. 18, which could represent the city's 18th Street gang.
The issue hasn't been a problem until this year, when the Broncos signed free agent Manning, who has worn No... read more

Yes let that sit in your brain for a minute. You like that? I bet you do. Yes I'm going with the Rodgers Co and here is why.
-Aaron Rodgers-
- Was on the way to having one of the best season in NFL history if it wasnt for a shorter guy in in New Orleans. You still cannot defend this team. The thing that scares me about Green Bay is when they play is it is too easy. Say what you want to about the Giants game and yes they were outplayed, but the Packers could have finished the Giants in the first half if they played up to their normal level. They now understand what it takes to have expectations and I believe they will be focused and deterenmined the entire year... read more

History suggests the Steelers will eventually reward Mike Wallace if he signs and reports. (Getty Images)
LATROBE, Penn. -- I wrote this before, about six weeks ago to be precise, and I'll write it again, and if logic reigns it will soon become a moot point: Mike Wallace, you need to get back with your teammates. Your holdout is going nowhere. It's well beyond time to get back to Pennsylvania and get back to work.
There isn't really any other choice. This ill-fated holdout is getting Wallace nowhere and the only rational end result -- signing a long-team deal with the Steelers -- has not changed... read more

There's a good case to be made that the Boston Celtics already are Rajon Rondo's team.
In terms of on-court performance and value, you'd be hard-pressed to make an argument that Kevin Garnett or Paul Pierce is more critical to this team's wins. Though his shooting remains inconsistent, the 26-year-old floor general does everything else you could possibly want.
He's a pin-point passer with an excellent sense of space and timing, and he's deferential almost to a fault... read more
